I came to Maria with multiple health concerns. I had polycystic ovarian syndrome, a real lack of energy, anxiety and a broken heart. I was depressed and I couldn’t see the light. Every day I was putting on and impressive show to the world, I wanted to perform I wanted to be loved by everyone. I had been suffering from the symptoms of polycystic ovarian syndrome for years. After only a few months after starting the acupuncture treatments, my life changed dramatically. I found within me the strength to leave a long term abusive relationship. Without going into details, I can say I hit rock bottom before I spring back up again. What appeared just like life with it’s up and down suddenly made sense to me. It became crystal clear. As a result of not loving myself enough for years and years, I became dependant on others and I attracted into my life people who would control me and even abuse me. I needed that control because I felt that I was not worth enough to make healthy decisions for myself. After each acupuncture treatments, I felt a bit tired and the next week I would feel more energized and my thoughts would become clear. I was slowly shifting my energy from a place of fear to a place of love. On an energy level I could feel that I was not where I belonged. By letting go and not resisting my life transformed. I am now well on my path of recovery. I experience little to no symptoms of polycystic ovarian syndrome, anxiety symptoms are less frequent, I have more energy and most importantly I feel that I love myself more every day. I since met someone who treats me with the respect that I deserve. I have wild dreams and I am excited about my future. Maria not only recognized the origin of my struggles but she knew how to treat me. I feel that I gain my life back.

Since August 2011, I seemed to catch a cold every 3-4 weeks. I felt very tired, foggy brain and some anxiety. In the middle of December, my doctor diagnosed me with adrenal fatigue and recommended taking extra vitamin supplements and get rest which I did. My Chiropractor suggested that I seek Chinese Medicine to help me. I started seeing Maria the second week of January, at this time I was recovering from another cold. I felt a difference in me after one acupuncture treatment but it took about 6 treatments for me to feel great. It has been 7 weeks since I started seeing Maria and it has been that long since I had a cold. The brain fog and anxiety have gone as well. I was new to Chinese Medicine and Maria was very good at explaining her treatments and making me feel comfortable. I believe Maria has a true gift as a healer.

Treatments with Maria have helped me improve my overall quality of life. I struggle with my breathing due to having COPD and asthma. Regular acupuncture treatments help to reduce the phlegm in my lungs and to breathe more easily. Being able to breathe more freely means that I have greater energy and can accomplish more throughout the day. Acupuncture has also helped to significantly decrease the arthritic pain I suffer from in my lower back. The pain was so intense that it would take hours to get going in the morning. Five years ago, due to a serious car accident, I sustained massive injuries including bleeding in the head, spinal nerves damage, shattering of my pelvis and fracture of my right ankle and foot. The direct consequence is excruciating chronic pain in my lower back as well as non-stop tingling in my right foot. I am on the highest dosage of pain-killers such as Percocet and Dilaudid , in addition to wearing Fentanyl patches. Almost every 10 days or so, in the past four years, a full-blown episode of insufferable pain, leading from my back to my injured foot would occur like clockwork, followed by continuous cramping in the thigh and leg and shooting pain in the heel or arch of my foot, due to my nerves firing non-stop. I would start popping pain-killers every 6 hours for 24 hours, in addition to pacing activities, applying hot and cold packs, and praying as a last resort. Relief only came when I fell asleep due to sheer fatigue from the pain, but the next day would be spent in bed, throwing up (the previous day’s medication). My health care providers were unable to provide me with any satisfactory solution to my shooting pain incidents. Then my physiotherapist told me to try Acupuncture at the clinic just across the street from my home. One day, while again suffering from non-stop shooting pain in my foot, I decided to try Acupuncture at the clinic. This may sound unbelievable but as soon as the needles went into my skin, my shooting pain stopped immediately! It was like somebody flicked off the switch to those firing nerves. From that moment on, I became a true believer in the healing power of Acupuncture.
I am so thankful to have Maria as my Acupuncturist because she is a conscientious health care provider, very knowledgeable and genuinely interested in finding a solution for my pain and other problems, be it sleeplessness or constipation. I know that she is always doing research in her own spare time and even going to seminars when possible. She not only gives me treatments but helps me understand my body, while stressing the importance of exercise on my muscles and nerves in order to prevent further atrophy. She is never patronizing but always shows respect for who I am. Ever since working with Maria, my full-blown pain episodes have decreased considerably and I am better able to manage my pain through acupuncture and regular exercise.
I truly appreciate Maria for giving me hope despite my permanent disability. I know that she will continue to do her best as an Acupuncturist. I am so glad that Maria is in the health care service because I believe that we desperately need someone like her who sincerely respects and cares about her patients as well as working with them graciously. This is the first time in my life that I tried acupuncture as an alternative solution to my migraines. After a year of regular treatment with traditional medicine without too much of a result I decided to give it a try and I was amazed with the results.
Maria worked on special points on my body and I felt a deep sense of peace as the muscles in my body relaxed and melted away any stress and pain I was feeling. I don’t think I have ever been more relaxed before.
After the first session I noticed the migraine had vanished. Over the next few sessions Maria continued to improve not only my headaches but my energy levels and sense of well-being. It was truly amazing.

I first came to Maria with a very sore hip that was painful when I walked, especially when I sat for long periods of time during the day at work. I was going to chiro and massage and decided to to try acupuncture to see if I could get more pain relief. Now I very seldom feel any pain in my hip and have worked with Maria on several other issues during the past year. She has helped me through menopause symptoms, knee problems and sleep issues as well, using acupuncture, herbal remedies and diet.
What I really appreciate about Maria is that she listens and works with me to find the best solutions to my health issues and really cares about what I am going through. When something isn’t working as well as it could, Maria will go out of her way to research and find a better solution, following up between appointment to see how I’m feeling.

Maria is a very gifted acupuncturist. She listens to her clients and has the innate ability to work with you to assist in your healing process. I came to Maria for health issues with my throat, swollen glands and difficulty when swallowing; my body was extremely run down. Through her intuitive healing, my symptoms have greatly improved and my immune system is becoming stronger every day. Maria is very gentle when applying the acupuncture needles to specific points, taking great care to ensure your comfort. I have been receiving treatments from Maria for almost a year; friends and co-workers often comment that I look healthier and vibrant and ask what it is that I’m doing different. I just wanted to comment on how impressed I was with the quality of service provided to me during my Acupuncture treatments! To begin with, the office staff was excellent. Their friendliness and responsiveness was very welcoming. It definitely makes you want to return again and again. My Acupucntrist, Dr. Maria, showed amazing attention to detail during my treatments. She was caring and gentle and always kept me informed of what she was doing. I often describe her as my ‘miracle worker’. I first came to her for a very painfully stiff neck. While she was treating and healing my neck, my shoulder bursitis also got better! About a year after that she successfully treated my tennis elbow.
